Agree once Newcastle got into their strid I worried it was going to be a big defeat, I'm not sure if we'd had Wright, Baldwin or Tilt fit it would have made any difference

 

As much as we want to win on Saturday its not worth risking a set back. We can always keep it tight and have Cook as a sub option for the last 20-30 minutes. With Pointon playing 90 minutes for the last 3 games I'm expecting him to drop to the bench on Saturday possibly for Lapslie

 

We miss Pattison. Leigh is just a fart in a bottle.

Didn't matter what team we picked tonight. Even Neufs was outpaced by them. Tonight was only about income for us. 2 bonuses, the performance of Bobby and the realisation of a dream for our number 9.

 

Not read the entire thread but do we know if Swan was rested or injured? If latter hope not serious as i have no faith in Humphrys. He should've buried that header.

I really doubt any team we could put out would've stood a chance tonight given Newcastle's strong and professional performance. But our tactics and team selection made for a very difficult first half which it was pretty impossible to recover from. I think sarc from the start and Touray in the back 3 would've given us more composure

I think Baldwin was our biggest miss tonight not just for his defending but did any of our clearances tonight find a man lot of effort at the back but little composure

 

Did our best but disappointed in Humphries and Powell's attitudes. Biggest game they'll play this season in opposition and didn't seem up for it.

Totally agree. I think criticism of Leigh is really harsh given the calibre of players he was facing. Patto would've given us a bit of muscle but i doubt it would've made a jot of difference. We were really on a hiding to nothing there. No injuries, cookie had a fantastic moment. Move on! I think Blackpool will be weaker than that!!

 

Pace killed us all over the park. They never tired either. We played better in the second half. Cookie does what he does best, brilliant player.
I was hoping for the best, but within a few minutes I realised we just couldn’t live with that kind of pace.
Harsh on Tommy in the middle they had three in there and they went past as Tommy was trying to fill in but failed. They were far too good for us.
