Hope we aren't too drained from tonight, it's been very demanding.

 

With the shorter turn around than normal I don't think it would be sensible to start him as you've have to bring him off after 45 minutes at most. He'll take a bit of time to get up to match fitness for be able to do 60 minutes. I'd guess the plan is to build him up with the view to starting the Everton game in 3 weeks and go from there.
The worst thing we can do for him and the team is rush him back and set him back.

 

No disgrace in that ball chasing exercise tonight massive gulf in quality, take the plaudits from the traveling hoards and back to bread and butter football come Saturday.

Newcastle barely misplaced a pass in that second half, often at pace. Really showed the difference in quality between the sides.

 

As a sentimental old git, I do hope some of the Toon lot showed some appreciation for Cookie and his goal.

 

It hard when a team like Newcastle keep the ball, we won't see quality like that again this season certainly not in the League .

 

Did you notice the officials were very reluctant in giving them adverse decisions . Three times in the last 10 they were offside .

 

We've been well and truly Paxoed but hey, hopefully it hasn't completely knocked the stuffing out of us.

Well done to Cookie for his goal and Sam Walker for keeping it respectable. Realistically though 4-1 was very flattering. Onto Saturday, I just hope Byrne and Kelly aren't playing as they simply aren't good enough for league 1.

 

The Premier League is light years ahead. It's world class and we are used to League 1 and 2.
