Edit..apparently it was 2004 the last time we met. Callum Kavanagh's dad played for Cardiff too.

 

Gutted I'm missing this one. It's one of the few grounds I've never visited (old or new) so should have made an extra effort really.

 

Any update on current sales Vin? Cheers.

 

I've seen a figure of 2,400 floating about. No idea where it's come from though.

 

I think sales have slowed down.
Around 2.2k apparently.
I've seen pay on the gate mentioned.

 

That is coming from the Cardiff end I believe.

 

I rang monday , and have been told i can pay on the gate ( granted i only live 25 miles from Cardiff ) .

 

Cardiff have a 6'4" striker that they can bring off the bench in case plan B is needed and long balls need to be pumped into the box. If Byrne is fit. might it be advisable to have him on the bench?

I might be too optimistic here, but I genuinely believe that we will win this, somewhat convincingly too. I’ve had 4-0 in my head all week.

I think their style plays right into our hands. The big atmosphere will bring the best out in our lads and I tend to think we may old man their kids and bully them. They’ve shown resilience, but not much has gone against them yet. If we can do what we did at Blackburn and Stoke and get a couple in front early doors, I can see us upsetting the odds.

(I haven’t had a drink, but it is late so maybe delirium perhaps?)

I was working for Bass Brewers in Cardiff and we regularly had a sponsors box at Ninian Park where we were tasked with picking the MOM. I remember choosing Kavanagh for the award, despite him having an absolute stinker. The crowd were bemused. In actual fact, I just wanted to congratulate him face to face on his goal scored a week earlier to put Leeds out of the FA Cup! 2002 was the year.

 

Preparing to travel to Wales tomorrow with St David as patron, music blasting with Tom Jones most of the day, a bit of Manic Street Preachers, Catatonia and Super Furry Animals , stripping a full bedroom for the plasterers to do there thing, I'm raring for the game tomorrow.

It's so long time since I have looked forward to City games as I do of late. I used to dread this type of opponent but I'm really positive that we will return with a positive result.

Up at 6:30am for the Guiseley to Leeds train then a 4 hour trip to Cardiff via Birmingham.
Really looking forward to seeing where we are in our progression as a side.
Even if we come a cropper, oh well we've got a trip to Newcastle on Wednesday to look forward to.
