    Let's hope not hey, would be travesty if our travelling army enabled them to take our place at the top of the league one attendance table

    That's a fantastic commitment by our fanbase to take 2.5Kish to South Wales on Saturday and nearly 5k to Geordieland 4 days later.

    I really want to go to Cardiff but im looking at £200 for train with my boy and its a long drive - I drove to Orient the other year and said never again over 2 hours for football!!! That said If Newcastle wasnt a few days later then Id probably do it.

    Top stuff from the 2k+ going.

    Just drive, it's not too bad.
    We did Newport by car and it's 4 hours from Bradford.
    Will be worth it.
    Top 2.
    Big game, big atmosphere.
    It's what we fought for last year.

    Top of the table clash, what a brilliant prospect. Sadly, our performances away still are nowhere near our home ones and it is looking like this will be the hardest away of the season with how they are going. If we play our best we can win, play like we did against Donny and it could get ugly.

    Newcastle a few days after, players will be fighting for a shirt there....could work to our advantage.

    I love Cardiff as a city lived there for 12 years. Tempted to get on one of the buses and head south. Sat with my leg up after steroid injection so need to take easy. I have a funny feeling we might just pull ourselves together for this away match who knows.

    I fancy this one far more than any of our previous ones. Cardiff have had success in playing in a similar way to Huddersfield and Wycombe. Our 3-4-3 style couldn't be suited better.

    I could see us losing this - but wait for it, losing the next away game at Rotherham!!

    I seriously think we have no problem with teams who want to play - that's been proven ever since GA took over, hence our excellent mickey mouse cup matches.

    Our problems will be the likes of Rotherham, Stevenage, Mansfield, Leyton Orient who either play a style we don't like - or like the latter two have very good matches, who simply will alter their style to negate us, i.e. like McCann did.

    Can anyone remember the home league match against Cardiff City on Wednesday 16 February 1983?

    It was notable for:
    • Cardiff City were the league leaders;
    • the referee was the Country's leading referee at the time, George Courtney (he would return to Valley Parade in 1989 to referee City's win over Spurs in the FA Cup);
    • the game kicked off at 2.45pm (it was a midweek match, but City were struggling financially and the floodlights weren't all working);
    • the 'programme' was a one-sided piece of A5 paper;
    • Cardiff used 3 'goalkeepers' in the match; and
    • City beat Cardiff 4-2, their first win over Cardiff for over 50 years.

    No doubt I was there , on nights at the time so no excuses. Some familiar names on the sheet , remember them all. Mark Lester and Johnny Black who reminds me somewhat of Jamie Walker?

    Decent ref for that fixture.

    I saw Linden Jones make his debut for Cardiff age 17 in 1979.

    I will definitely have been there, however, dont recall the actual match.

    I was trying to think today, when was the last time we played Cardiff, and I simply cannot remember?
