I'd forgotten how much I dislike that lot. Even more odious group than Leeds.

 

Just got back.
What a performance!
OK yeah, They had the better of us in the first half technically speaking but their defence was absolute sheeite for our goals, and there we were worried bout our defence.
I thought they'd come out with blistering attack in the second half but we just harried and pinned them in their own half for the first 15-20 minutes.
When they started playing football again we defended to the man, everyone was in their clearing balls and getting into the tackle. They managed a goal but I knew they wouldn't get another.
We're not Barcelona, we're Bradford City and we do it our way.

 

Waited a long time for this, them beating Terry Dolans nearly team in 1988 when they were a terrible side. The Gordon Watson leg break and the Town fans reaction too it. Them nearly costing us promotion in 1998/99 when they beat us 3-2 here,and Jacko with his comment of having blue and white blood in his veins. This win really means a lot and we were fantastic today.

 

I'm with those who have given Tyreik Wright MOM, thought he did pretty much everything right today.

It made a massive difference having him and Touray to chase back and prevent us getting exposed at the back.

The first 25 minutes of the second half were outstanding, Huddersfield could barely get out of their own half.

Brilliant day.

 

Was their CH Wallace the player we were supposedly interested in?

An absolute lump of wood who had a complete shocker.

 

It could have been worse, as you say I also fully expected them to throw the kitchen sink at us early doors second half bur we could have made it 4 with Swans shot that hit the crossbar with their keeper nowhere near it and Powell's lob that Nicholls manage to get his finger tips too and push over the crossbar.

Jacko came through the McCall/Hendrie suite and I grabbed a word, now I don't know if he's seen a lot of Huddersfield this season but he said he fancied us today, you can take the lad out of Buttershaw but you cant take Buttershaw out of the lad, he was very upbeat about his prediction.

 

I think Power should take a lot of credit for that.

He controlled the tempo at the start of the 2nd half perfectly.
Slowed all the throw ins and free kicks down and just stopped them building any momentum.

It helped that they were still trying to be prime Barca with their 10 passes between defenders just to even get in our half.
Absolutely no urgency from them even at 3-0 down.

Touray was quality. Had £3m Joe Taylor in his back pocket.

 

Totally agree on Power

 

There was a lot of talk about Pointon and how he would adapt to league 1, a lot of the on the ball stuff I don't think he's been that amazing and certainly not creating as many chances as last season but I don't think that is down to how he's playing but the understanding of the role better. Last season for me he was too wide too often and nearly all of his goals were from long range but this season he is sitting a bit more narrow and he's attacking the six yard box knowing he will get chances. His last 4 goals have all been between the width of the goals and inside the 6 yard box. Even for the 3rd goal it was scored because of his run to the near post. If we keep getting the balls into the right areas and he keeps making them runs he should be looking at 15 goals and goals like them will get him noticed by teams higher up.

Credit has to go to him for adapting his game but also the coaching staff who've clearly worked with him on it over the summer.

Just been having a browse. They aren't happy, which I can understand. The DOF question has been asked.

A couple of sadford comments, but most recognise that after the goal they were outplayed.

I was surprised how we were able to dominate them.

 

First half fortunate to go in 3-0 up but i thought we managed the 2nd half brilliantly.

Things never change though there fans are still fooking wankand make little or no noise

Some want the manager sacked already, and the consensus is the we wanted it more. Of course we did, it was our cup final lol.

 

Yes, his confidence appears back. Him and Bobby completely bossed that side of the pitch and their right back could not cope. Loved it near the end when Wright was toying with him as if to say you know I can just run it past you...
