Match Thread #9: Cardiff City vs Bradford City Saturday 20th September 2025 3:00pm

I had a couple of years living in Radyr before moving to Bradford. My first football matches were at Ninian Park. Would love to been able to get to this one.

 

I lived in Cardiff for 12 years. Used to watch Cardiff at Ninian Park.

 

You didn't see them beat Southampton 1-0 in 1978? Alan Ball and Mick Channon. My first game.

 

No unfortunately not. 1979. The only time we saw City play Cardiff we lost 1-0. Other half and my dad went to watch City at Newport.

Seems we are selling a block at a time, which is probably right as Cardiff will probably want to position the stewards at a point to keep space rather than letting about 1,500 people buy 3,000 tickets and have vast empty blocks.

 

I’m hoping there’s room to spread out as I’ve got safe standing tickets as that’s all they had but 3 of our group probably won’t be able to stand and see

I lived in the Valleys in the 1980s and used to travel down by train have pint and watch them fairly regularly. Stopped going because of the hooligan element - hope they are a bit more welcoming now!

 

Transport for Wales has a sale on train tickets for this date. Managed to get a return for £30 with a railcard (not from Bradford though). They automatically appeared through a search on thetrainline, not sure if they will be cheaper elsewhere.

 

Sit/stand where you want. Not sure how many actual seats there are but it won’t stop people standing up in those even though safe standing is available

 

I watched every episode of Gavin & Stacey.

 

I remember City winning at Cardiff 1 - 0 with full back Lewis Emmanual hitting a screamer! Can't remember the year though.
