I think it's just Metcalfe and Pointon that wont need registering?

Kav is 21 but he turns 22 this week so he's before the cut off date which is always Jan 1st, so we will need to register Kav this season. Bobby turns 22 on Jan 4th, so we wont need to register him until next season.

He will and should. That’s what’s contracts are for otherwise what’s the point.

 

Kelly is a steady, no nonsense L2 CB in my view. He’s good in the air but has looked pretty rocky on the deck this season, and his distribution is dreadful. I know nothing about McIntyre either, but if he’s played 100 games in the Championship I would hope and expect that he’s an upgrade on Kelly.

Yeh I couldnt be bothered looking on Kav. Thats 22 then, plus 3 keepers, plus Bobby, Metcalfe, Goodman and Ibbitson. No more room.

 

Utility player for that final spot and Pompey wont have any expectations from us developing him as he is 26 years old. A smart loan.

 

Credit where it's due, he's avoided the usual clichéd 'buzzing to be here' and gone old school with 'over the moon' instead.

 

Cliche bingo in full effect. Massive club, unbelievable fans, shame the 'shouldn't be in this division' has gone now, was always one of my favourites.

 

There are some YouTube vids made when he was at Reading …Fast , technical and pick out a pass. The opposite of Kelly .

I bet he’d make a cracking DM ? A managers dream if he can play in multiple positions in an emergency. .

 

He's played around the field before but is mainly a left sided CB. From the looks of his career he's had 12 games in DM, 24 games at LB/LWB. The other 130/140 ish he's played in central defence.

Seen that. Something that we can improve on in this team is ball retention and this lad can pass a ball.

 

Probably my only main worry so far this season and it's not a huge one (so far), but our ball retention is woeful. The amount of panic balls just pinged down a channel hoping Humps/Swan has spotted the incoming hoof to time their run is really annoying at times, especially in the first half last Saturday.

Our pass completion is 61.8% which is the worst in L1, and 4th worst in the whole EFL. Obviously, the counter attack faster way we try get the ball forward will lead to some bad balls, but that pass completion is really poor so far.

 

I find myself using the word sloppy a lot. Especially around the centre of the park where we seem to mistime passes regularly. As you say not a major concern but it bugs me because it's something that can be easily rectified
