Well not really. A number of our reserves put in a performance tonight that suggested they might deserve a starting place. The opposite of the Stoke players.

I think you are missing the point . Their reserves, our reserves , they are CC reserves . We murdered their reserves .

In terms of wanting a packed stadium, it kinda was.

    Let's see what awaits us!

It's really funny how we sometimes see things differently. I thought Leigh was involved a lot, but he also lost the ball a lot and his passing was a bit loose. Maybe a 6/7 in a team of 8s and 9s. Just my opinion of course

Don’t know if you’ve seen the prize money this year, but it wouldn’t get you much in the transfer market.

    Round Money
    First Round winners £5,000
    Second Round winners £7,000
    Third Round winners £10,000
    Fourth Round winners £15,000
    Quarter-Final winners £25,000
    Semi-Final winners £25,000
    Winner £100,000

I agree with that. You are missing my point. Which is that Robins is not going to be very impressed with the performance of his reserves at all. Whereas Alexander will be impressed with his reserves. A different point entirely.

That's poor,no incentive for big clubs to put out strong sides.

There’s no packed stadiums anywhere in round 2 of the league cup

I would say it's not much incentive for us either. Hopefully a lot more to come from TV money etc.

It’s become tinpot and this is the evidence along with poor crowds that give no financial gain either
Largely due to the ludicrous amounts pumped into premier and championship
No desire for those clubs whatsoever

And yet a big club always wins the trophy. First few rounds its a training exercise for the big teams but get to the semis and they take it seriously.

Well what a night. That was as good a team performance from City in a long time and following from a few other excellent performances. Football support in Stafford is split mostly three ways, Stafford Rangers as the main local team and Wolves and Stoke as the two closest League sides, so that's bragging rights over a few of my friends for a while.

As usual I'll try and avoid picking out individuals, as it was a great team effort, but I will say it was good to see Brad back in a City shirt and making it clear he has something to offer this season. Great support from the travelling fans as always and it it was strange to be back home from a night match at 10:15pm, but I'm now enjoying a celebratory beer or two.

Back too league action on Saturday, no after the Lord Mayor's Show please.

Nice to keep a clean sheet as well. Walker only had to make one save that I can remember?
