Great to see us 2nd in attendance league table after 2 home games. Will only get better with some big games coming up and the many local teams we play (Barnsley, Blackpool, Rotherham, Mansfield, Huddersfield, Doncaster, Stockport etc).

if only attendance league table could be replicated by league table (here’s hoping!).

We would struggle to get above Bolton as all their fans have returned primarily because Man U are a mere distraction with their results and pricing compared to say three years ago ?

100% agree. Bolton will be top for attendance. I guess us and Cardiff will be closely tied for 2nd. How amazing of our fans to back the team up with such amazing numbers.

It will be interesting to see what the Wimbledon attendance is. They are doing well but only brought 340 around the same time of the year, I don't think they will bring many more so could be one of our lowest attendances of the season. If we can keep the lower ones at 18,500 or higher then I see no reason why we can't get 20,000 average this season.

Last season those on the banks of the river Colne, attracted an average of 18,817 to their kennels! It would be good to top that and clearly overtake them.

I think it would be difficult to overtake Bolton, unless they implode…..or, we are right up there from the middle of February.

Cardiff had 11 more (in total) on first day of season but were down at just over 17000 yesterday....

Cardiff's attendances are bound to be affected from time to time when there's coal that needs shipping and sheep that need shagging.

Considering it's still holiday season that's a good turnout.

Away followings saw them beat us.

They will be around 21.5k like last season. They got 26k against Wrexham which was their highest.

We should see larger away follows this term.

Well time for a bit of guesswork/speculation.

I anticipate an away following in roughly these bands.

Huddersfield, Barnsley, Port Vale, Cardiff, Rotherham, Stockport, Mansfield, Bolton, and Reading I would guess would bring 1800+

    Orient, Blackpool, Lincoln, 1400+

Wigan, Plymouth (a long journey) perhaps 800+

Stevenage Northampton, Peterborough & Burton under 800.

That’s fair but wholly also depends on their league position at the time too.

When have Port Bale ever brought 1800+ to us? They usually bring about 600. I doubt Orient and Reading will bring many either unless they are flying.

That is why I said ‘I guesswork/speculation’ and then again ‘I guess’.

Happy for an alternative range of estimates.

One thing I mentioned to my mate on Saturday was how even a team like Luton brought a good following which made for a better atmosphere. Based on last season that Luton following would have been about the 4th or 5th biggest following we had, With only Carlisle, Donny, Grimsby & Notts County easily above them.

This year however that Luton following was pretty good but there will be loads bigger than that this season, with some followings likely to sell out every away ticket at our place.

Huddersfield Town could well be touching 24k.

Bolton probably not far off either, though that may be more like 22k.

I track attendance figures for another forum (nerdy, I know. I like data and spreadsheets) so I'll use this thread to publish monthly here for anyone interested. First due after the last August games.

    Bolton generally sell-out.

We’ve had 19k home fans for our opening two fixtures. With 2,700 in the away end, that puts us very close to 22k without any additional interest from the Wycombe and Luton fixtures. If we continue to compete at this level, whenever the away end is full, I think you’re looking at 23k+ attendances with relative ease.

Huddersfield is the only exception, where I can see the total attendance being nearer 24k.
