Leigh came on as sub last night so he must have recovered from Saturdays knock.

I was a bit surprised Patto didn't get any minutes at all but then again, he's got more competition for his spot this season than he had last year.

 

If we don't absolutely need Pattison to play then let's hold off putting him on given the string of tricky games coming up. We'll need him in the next few.

 

That's a fair call from any lads who and do that. Good idea for them and Sheff W. If they go in and miraculously do well they could end up getting a better deal

 

I wonder if any just bad timing happened for him? When Kelly had to go off, it was our last sub opportunity and GA was waiving down the touchline really quickly at Leigh to run back, but i noticed Pattison at the same time was walking back down the tunnel from the changing room whilst GA was waiving. I wonder if the plan for for Pattison to get 10 but the injury forced us to change it quicker, and Leigh was the only one warmed up, Patto was having a slash? Wild speculation.

 

Maybe and if so, he's only himself to blame. As my mum always used to say 'you should have gone before we came'.

Two and a half weeks to go, sounds like we want outs more than ins. Reckon we'd hold out for offer until Jan even for Smith, Wilson and Oduor? Or do they get paid out and released before the deadline so then can find a club for the season on their own?

 

Surely Wilson will be going back to TNS, even if only a season long loan

I don't understand what the end game for these three is. They simply won't be playing here.

Obviously both club and player have signed contacts so they're more than free to sit on them, but Wilson is still basically unknown in English football, Smith has pretty much had two seasons doing not a lot and the same for Oduor. It's in their interests to go play and try forge a career somewhere. They need their agents to sort them out move wise.

Or they must be on hefty contracts to be happy to continue to sit on them.

 

Someone on Twitter mentioned Nick Powell other week he’s now about to be released by Stockport , ex Wigan under sharpe too

 

We don't seem to pay people off these days unless they have something lined up.

I've posted a few times about my concerns about exiting a few people but don't worry, everyone assures me that we will be letting some go...

Smith was offered an opportunity to go back to Barrow but turned it down. He may come to regret that decision if nothing else materialises for him.

Can't see it without multiple departures. We're over stocked with that type of player already and he looks like a downgrade on almost every other choice we have there.

Sit out his deal on good money and collect a signing on fee , meanwhile stagnate or……

Nick Powell would be a strange signing. High wages and cannot keep fit - unsurprisingly he is currently injured. A waste for me if true which it likely is given the source (Stockport journo).

Having said that, we do need one in that position I think.
