I’d need to see it again. It looked to me like he was barged over from behind and knew nothing about it until he hit the deck. But I only saw a brief replay on TV from a distant camera.

 

He seems , from my observations , to have carried on where he left off . As you say he needs to continue that progression and Power may just be the man to show him defensive positional sense which will add to his game even more. You could well be right re the fee / sell on etc .

 

Metcalfe at first glance has a good skillset. Seems quite vocal as well. One thing that i look for is a central midfielder to be comfortable turning with the ball and not standing still when receiving it. Early days but i like what i see, i like it a lot.

 

We could say he hedged his prediction on a sure fire bet with their parachute payment to go at? In all honesty his prediction record has proven to be nothing more than click chasing amusement

On the opposite side of the coin , watch him when passing around midfield , once he’s passed he runs into empty space to give the receiver an out ball back. I’m sure he did it several times last night in the first half especially?

Not sure why any of the officials didn't see the incident it was right in front of both dug outs, the linesman and fourth official should have been feet away.

 

There was nothing to see apart from their player run towards Baldwin and then Baldwin throwing himself on the floor. It wasn't even convincing.

 

Personal game management. Something crucial for a central midfielder. That part will get better with experience, he did seem aware of what was going on around his personal space, I get frustrated when I see a midfielder who only hasto turn 180 degrees with the ball and he opens up space in front of them only to pass the ball straight back to where it had originally come from. He did this a few times last night off both legs. I was specifically looking to see if he could do it.

 

Posted similar early into the game his vision with regards a forward pass was different class, always looking for a positive pass, a breath of fresh air, but then he did came from Everton the "School of Science" .

If that was the case the officials got one right, as some of the cards given last night for a less that over physical game we poor.
As @Offcomedun says I'll have to see the incident again, and if it was the case Baldwin threw himself to the floor Alexander needs to sit him down and remind him of what is expected, especially after the Doncaster debacle.
