Class that, really enjoyed it. Touray immense, really liked Metcalfe who looked as tidy as he did against us last season. Walkers save was simply outstanding. Though Swan also ran his socks off and had some clever touches. Back 3 evolved but the work rate and standards didn’t slip which is hugely encouraging, however really hope Wright going off was precautionary.

Cracking team effort - this squad is really showing huge signs of promise. Great momentum to take into the weekend

Walker's second half save was so good it made me forget that he'd already made a stunning save in the first half. Some keeper he's been for us! Getting better and better.

IMO Swan must start against Luton as you say he never gave up closing down, dare Alexander start both him and Humphrys?.

Thought we bullied them early doors and they weren't ready for it.

The break for Wright's initial injury did us no favours and their gaffer got to grips with them and they started with little balls behind the press which worked wonders for them and they played round us easily for the rest of the game.

Really enjoyed the game itself big chances either end, and with them begging for penalties towards the end I was sure the ref would give one.

Thought the whole team did well, defending manfully and a threat going forward even if we were very wasteful at times when simple balls would have had us in.

Walker, wonderful save in each half

Toure was fantastic down the right, even discounting the goal.

Metcalfe and power I thought were excellent upto 70 but then both started to continue to try the wonder balls which bit us on the arse a few times

Humphrys, early impressions are he is going to split this forum as much as marmite

 

Seems really odd that Blackburn have a massive TV gantry running the length of the main stand yet film games from the opposite side

Otherwise what a performance tonight, Metcalfe a natural, share others concerns re Humphrys but he has time yet to come good....

 

Me too. Was cooking tea, came in the room with 4 minutes on the clock to see we were 2-0 up!!

 

After a very good debut Humphrey’s performances have dropped but I think he will score plenty over the season. Swan worked his socks (Wings) of

 

First and foremost a cracking game where both sides got the ball down and played some attractive football, the complete opposite of Saturday. Thought Touray was simply superb, never put a foot wrong. Metcalfe looked assured on his debut showed signs of being a real find. The effort of the front three set the tone for the rest of the press although Neufville didn't seem to know when to press and when to hold back.
A lot of positives to take from this, we seemed more at ease with Blackburns style of play than we did Northampton and that bodes well when we play the better sides in the division.
Looking forward to a packed VP on saturday now against one of the favourites for promotion.

Non stop singing and hilarious songs too aimed at Blackburn. If we can keep this up, who knows where we'll end up. Only gripe for me was Tilt getting booked. He'd no needs to get involved and I'm sure that's the second time he's been booked for the same thing. We can't afford to go down to 10 men. GA need to have a word with him.
