Agreed but I'm sure the Premier League and Sky wouldn't have Liverpool playing away on the 40th anniversary of Hillsborough for instance. Or, if they did, they would move it.

As @Silverbantam says we have played on the date before but only once as far as I can tell and that was in 1991. The next nearest was when we played the first leg of the 1996 play offs against Blackpool on 12th May.

Also, the EFL only announced those dates on 27th Feb when we were well and truly in the play off picture. They just haven't thought about us and that's the bit which really bothers me. It doesn't take much to put out a statement saying that if Bradford City are in the play offs they will swap that with one of the league 1 fixtures from the day before.

Tannoy system really needs upgrading. Couldnt understand a word in the Kop on Saturday. Echoed.

 

Must have sorted 150 of them as didn't they say they had frozen about 100 tickets due to non payment?

 

If I recall isn’t clear evacuation alerts a critical part of the safety certification . If alerts are intelligible then they should act? It’s ok testing in an empty stadium but 1515 on a Sat afternoon during a game is a different ball beast.

 

Did I read the other day that safe standing is being ripped out due to fan request at Ipswich ?

 

Hasn't it been reported before that a different system is used for the safety announcements to the normal tannoy system?

 

Really ? A loudspeaker is a loudspeaker , are you saying they have a different speaker set up or are you saying the emergency feed to the same speakers is different. It’s different lighting systems as in all buildings yes I get that “ sound”? Worth asking , I just don’t see the point of two sets of loudspeakers ?

 

Just repeating what I think has been said before when asked at supporters meetings, but I could be misremembering

 

PA system is pretty much unintelligible all the time BUT you can hear the announcements about the different coloured team leaders as clear as day!!

 

I can’t argue tbf , you may be right but sounds odd to have two sets of speakers that’s all.

 

That means he could be correct in his assertion there are two systems ?

 

We should just get the green team leader to announce the half time scores.

It doesn’t matter that we have two systems although excessive in my view. We just need one that ppl can hear and respond if necessary.

 

Over the last couple of seasons the anticipation of which team leader they announced was more interesting than some of the football.

 

I suppose having two systems, adds a safety factor if one goes down you should still be able to alert the crowd to possible dangers.

 

I finally learned the trick that they change the traffic light by the tunnel before the announcement!! My lads thought I'd become psychic!!!
