You are kidding me Rod.. ? No it’s a Yorkshire thing . Fry bacon and remove , add a tin of beans and fry long and slow until it all goes “ sticky” . Absolutely nectar if you like beans on one’s Olympic breakfast .

not only Yorkshire, though I use a saucepan and a nob of butter to reduce them, bacon fat is reserved for the fried bread, and of course no decent breakfast is complete without bubble

I'll go a stage further mate.
Dice the bacon, fry it, add the beans and cook until most of the juice has gone, crack two eggs in and mix thoroughly. Squirt of ketchup, squirt of brown sauce. Season to taste. Looks like cat sick but tastes bloody luvverly.
    But, I digress....

Yes totally agree with fried bread in bacon fat , but plenty of oil and split the residue in half and hey presto.

Unsurprisingly I am not a fan of beans. Too sweet for my palate.

I love baked beans too. Cheese on toast with baked beans on top is food of the gods.
I’ve recently discovered Crosse & Blackwell baked beans which IMHO are the mutt’s nuts. Lovely rich tomato sauce and no crappy UPF ingredients. Knock Heinz into a cocked hat.

Fried bread is nectar. So much better than those nasty American hash browns that proliferate nowadays.
And bubble is just gorgeous. You don’t see it much up here, although Whitelocks pub in central Leeds sells it (or at least used to). It’s a family tradition to have bubble on Boxing Day morning, made with leftover roasties and sprouts mashed up.

On home matchday I generally have my usual breakfast of porridge with soft fruit, nuts & seeds, kefir and Greek yoghurt. Then for lunch I have chilli with brown bread at the Fighting *@?$, washed down with a pint of Boltmaker. They’ve been making that exact same recipe chilli there since the place opened in the mid eighties. It’s great.

Wont touch Heinz they are too bitter . I used to be a fan of HP but they became too sweet . Now it’s Sainsbury’s “ own” I find give the best balance and also they do small tins . A big tin too much nowadays with three slices of doorstep home baked bread ;)

Sorry, yes, Branson, not C&B. Senior moment there!
Morrisons own brand are also quite decent.
