Stands - Baldwin, Kelly, Pattison, Kavanagh

Injured - Byrne, Cook

Youth - Goodman, Ibbitson

Thats a decent crop of players that didnt get a starting shirt and ones we can turn too.

Really struggling to think where we need this other body right now.

 

I personally think we need one more defensive midfielder and that's it. GA did suggest 1 or 2 more after Saturdays game. Be interesting to know what position he thinks we still need more competition

 

With Power as captain (auto choice for now) and Metcalfe on the bench Im not 100% convinced unless we pick up a bad injury. The loan is going to be a kid, 3rd in line.

 

We need a quality left centre back for me with a bit of pace. Tilt and Kelly don't have the technical ability and may struggle against quicker, skilful forwards. Telling Tilt he's dropped might be a daunting task for Alexander though. He'll argue with his own shadow.

 

Im not convinced Power is a 46 games a season player, dont think he ever has been, so we definitely need more cover in my opinion.

Is Metcalfe a defensive midfielder?, I thought he was more like Pattison, box to box type

 

I did notice Tilt arguing with Power and Walker on Saturday. He definitely looks an angry young man!

 

Other than the last 2 years, Power has a very good record of playing 40+ games a season on average. Whether that's still the case remains to be seen of course, but it's a complete myth that he's injury prone.

 

We’ve been spoiled with Smallwood not missing games.

 

Yeh he is holding or was for Chesterfield.

 

Yeh youd think all 3 are gone at some point in some shape.

 

He picked up an ACL. It happens and a long period out. Its one of those things....but injury prone is a myth.

We have Metcalfe to challenge him/fill in for that shirt.

 

I have it on very very good authority that Jack Hunt gets a contract once we have shipped someone out, if he hasn't something else lined up by then. He is keen to stay here due to the locality and is very keen about what is going on with City generally at the moment

 

So he is 1 and maybe 1 more in GAs words.

Looks like we are trying to avoid the loan market for now. Makes sense after Adaramola, Shepherd and Khela returning to parent clubs left us with work to do in the summer.

 

Good , someone with gonads is needed. Walker might be the instigator of that disagreement because he was glued to his line when he should have come out to gather a simple ball. ( If it’s the same incident) ?

 

In terms of the one or two GA wants, he's talking about quality now isn't he rather than just adding numbers. I think we might end up seeing one more added to the surplus list in addition to Smith, Wilson etc.
