Digital Ticket admission + Club only physical tickets.

ticket office is going to be busy tomorrow... hope i don't have to trek all the way from midland road to ticket office if my ticket doesn't scan....

 

I suspect this will be to try to reduce people sharing a season ticket and possibly 1 or 2 who try to get 2 people in on 1 season ticket. If you are there at 2:45 I can't imagine they'll be bothered stopping you and also if you've take a screenshot of it in your wallet it will be very hard to tell the difference unless you look at it really closely.

I did notice as well the email mentioned that over 100 season tickets have been cancelled due to missed payments, I would assume they will have phoned/emailed these people but just in case it's probably worth anyone who is paying by direct debit just to double check all the payments have gone out.

 

Why have they only given a few hours notice of this? I haven't received an email so if my son hadn't told me, I would have gone to the ground and been refused entry as I suspect a number will. Why couldn't they accept entry tomorrow and give notice for the Luton game? PR has never been Sparks' forte.

 

Whats the problem with screen shots, once it's been scanned it can't be used again.

 

God forbid! That would be awful.

 

I'm a technophobe and don't own a mobile phone so admit I don't know but if you have a download on your phone, can't you post it on to someone?

 

Sounds like the club is worried that their system can’t detect if a ticket has already been scanned

 

It must register how many times it's been used as that's how they allocate loyalty points.

I took a screenshot of my ST last year in case my phone decided not to display the ticket in my e-wallett. I can't see how the scanner can detect the difference between a screenshot or your e-wallett image on the same phone screen.

I’m sure they accepted printed copies for the friendly against Middlesbrough last week

 

Last year I went to a game with a pdf print out of my ticket. The person at the turnstile scanned it, didn't notice she had, but then it failed when she tried to scan it when she was paying attention.

I had to walk around the ground to the ticket office. They could see that two scans had been made next to each other within a few seconds, released the ticket again for me to walk back around the ground. Fortunately I only missed the first few minutes having arrived at the ground at half two.

 

Screenshot's definitely worked last season. This season I have a physical card, but tomorrow I will test the Screenshot of my season ticket to see if it works. I'll post if it works or not.
