I think he’ll stay unless a silly bid comes in….It didn’t a few short weeks ago , and I agree he doesn’t HAVE to play, but I suggest he most likely will alongside Cookie.

I think if we start the season with Kav/Pointon-Cook-Young, I'd be very happy indeed.

He doesn't have any credit in the bank, like you say, but that's fearsome for this level - and all three of them are 'in house' already.

In fairness, he doesn't "have to play". He's had an excellent 6 months in his entire career and whilst I think he's going to progress into a higher level player I don't think we should consider him a "shoo in" just yet.

He was captain of Cheltenham in L1 few years ago until Parky offered him a wad - he wouldn’t weaken our defence when we have used Oyegoki, Ridehalgh, Kelly, Osudina and taylor among our options this year gone! His throw is a bit of a bonus really.

we are desperate for a leader, more so if Stubbs isnt starting at CB

Wadsworth decision made on the day. Anyone think he he had a poor attitude?

Seems an odd one to decide last minute.

It all depends on the formation. If we continue the set up we have used successfully at the end of the season, and I liked it a lot, then we have one defensive midfielder, presumably Smallwood, two in front of him from Walker, Pointon, Pattison and Oduor, and then two up front, ie two from Cook, Kavanagh, Young and Smith. You can't fit Kavanagh, Young and Cook in unless you change the system and that would mean playing Cook on his own which we know is far less effective. Young and Kavanagh aren't wide players. That was Young's gripe with Hughes, and he was right. So it would be two from Cook, Kavanagh and Young, whichever worked best. Very promising I'd say but a lot of water to go under the bridge before the season starts.

That’s probably the only decision that I’m miffed with to be honest. I thought this kid was supposed to be full of promise! Why cut short his loan just to tease him then release him? It’s an odd one for sure

Has to be an attitude issue. Something 'missing' was the excuse......

    Drive, ambition, professionalism etc

I thought we wanted to improve, that’s my point ? I’m not comparing him with what we already have which most of us agree are not good enough, so a pointless exercise really. A few years ago you say, sorry I’m talking present day BL.

Possibly. I’ve just listened to the interview, the way I understood it, is maybe he failed to show GA and the staff what he is made of, as he is looking at another club? Unless I misunderstood

Additionally, it was nice to hear GA talk about already trying to improve the everyday facilities, and also that he has already had a meeting with prospective players, and he has more lined up next week. Early business if it comes off, music to my ears

Only thing we have no idea about is if these 4 will be a good fit together.

Unless he is seriously ill with a doctors note or can provide some legitimate evidence that he couldn’t attend, then surely he is in breach of contract………

Well GA certainly seems a very thorough and well organised close season manager, and he sounds very determined to hit the ground running in pre season and start of next season.

I've always said, get as many points on the board as earlier as possible and it whets the fans appetite, as opposed to chasing all season.

    Good interview that.

Technically yes but if he asked permission in advance and it was granted then not a contract breach. If he just swanned off then certainly , but doubt if it’s a dismissal offence. Normally a Final Written Warning for going absent without leave .
It certainly would be strange if he did go awol absolutely Rod.
